September Music and Wine Picks

Often September feels like the beginning of a new year. After summer we are ready to begin work, school and start new endeavors. Fall Fashions are introduced (although because of the insane retail calendar often fall clothes arrive in July) and our cultural year begins with new art exhibits, serious fall movies, the new television season and important books and music are released.

It is also a good time to look back at the year so far and pick out some music that might have been overlooked or that deserves another look or listen. Two of my favorite bands U2 and Wilco have albums that fall into this category. My third pick for September is Yo La Tengo’s new album Popular Songs that is really good introduction to this veteran indie band.
